"Our village country pub provides everything you need to have a great time with friends, family or work colleages and is the only public house tied to the West Berkshire Brewery. Every month there is a new brew from WBB, just for the month, well worth trying. Often there is at least one other West Berks brew as well as the regular beers. Alongside the Ales, which can also be taken home in 1, 2, 9, 18 & 36 pt carry-outs, the speciality of the pub is traditional 'pub grub', every meal is home-made and cooked from scratch. Special dietary requirements and food intolerances are catered for. Food is served every session. For further information, please take a look at our sample menus.
There is now a Folk Club here. Every Sunday evening from 8pm, with a booked guest once a month.
"Classic Sundays". Whether you ride it or drive it, come along on the first Sunday of the month. Bring your pride and joy for all to admire.
In the summertime, the pub garden is very popular with families as we have made it extremely child friendly by making it totally enclosed, this provides a good space for you to enjoy your pub lunch and a few drinks, safe in the knowledge that your little ones cannot wander out of the pub garden without you. The Rising Sun Public House also provides Blues evenings and open music evenings, great for those up and coming musicians to just turn up, play their music and enjoy a pint or two during the evening, whilst providing the audience with an ever varied evening of entertainment.
